The qualification test program for the Class 7 Gearbox has been successfully completed at Blue Logic’s workshop.
As these Gearboxes will be subject to permanent subsea service after delivery, a comprehensive qualification test program according to API 17H and customer requirements has been performed. The test program has been developed in close cooperation with our client.
A bespoke dynamic torque test jig was developed to fulfill the requirements involving endurance testing. The Gearbox was operated using Blue Logic’s Class 7 Electrical Torque Tool with customized software for auto-cycling. All critical parameters logged to ensure full documentation of the test sequences.
All Gearboxes due for delivery this summer will now be subject to Factory Acceptance Test, FAT, before shipping to client.
