Senior Mechanical Engineer



Responsibilities and authority

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for technical, mechanical design aspects in a product lifecycle for defined assignments and projects within Blue Logic.  The role’s responsibility is throughout all phases and stages, including tendering, planning, concept engineering, detail engineering, and product verification. The role may also provide support during fabrication and aftermarket/service activities. Internal technical specification and documentation, in addition to documentation for external customers is an important part of the job. The Senior Mechanical Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager.


Background, experience and knowledge base
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant technical experience within mechanical design of subsea equipment, or related type of equipment
  • Experience and knowledge within development of products with multidiscipline content
  • Knowledge and experience from design processes based on operation and reliability in a product life cycle context
  • Experience from use and interpretation of industry standards and regulations
  • Experience with customer interaction and handling
  • Ability to work independent as well as a strong team contributor
  • Good communication skills verbal and in writing

Competency and Education
  • Minimum 3 years of technical University education, BSc or MSc
  • Knowledge and experience within Engineering and Product Development processes
  • Skills, knowledge, and experience within 3D CAD design
  • Experience and knowledge within structural analysis within mechanical components
  • Knowledge and experience within standards and regulations within the Subsea industry
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English written and oral language
  • Relevant competence in legal and contractual requirements
