The Blue Logic Auto Release System is derived from our patented ValveStab technology providing a 100% leakage free, subsea resettable solution if a drift-off occurs. Designed and qualified for Riserless Light Well Intervention, RLWI. Type approval issued by DNV GL for use as well intervention equipment.
The environmental friendly ROV operated Auto Release System will automatically disconnect if excess force (between 1 - 4 ton) is applied in the combined hose and wire system thus pulling the stab and receptacle apart. The Auto Release fail-safe close sequence is a two-step event:
- Step 1; Valves in stab and receptacle are closed.
- Step 2; Stab releases from the receptacle ready for recovery or reconnect.
This dual operation prevents any spillage to sea and disconnects the system without
any damages to the parts. Hence, the system is ready for direct reconnection to complete the operation if required.
Normal operation of the system is based on field proven ROV hot stab technology were the
mechanism is controlled by ROV. One hot stab operation locks/ unlocks the system
and simultaneously opens/ closes the valve function. The ROV Hot Stab is a seawater-based
system that ensures no hydraulic oil spillage.
The system also includes for an emergency release mode that will be activated if, for any
reason, the ROV operated mode or the Auto Release hose/ wire mode fails. When pull
force in the hose reaches a certain threshold (ex. 12 ton) the two shear pins in the
system will break and the Stab is separated from the receptacle. In this mode the valve function
will not be activated and leaves the system exposed to seawater. After an emergency disconnect, both stab
and receptacle must be recovered to deck for re-set and inspection prior to further operation.
The Blue Logic Ø200 Auto Release System is designed in accordance with ISO 13628-4 and
ISO 10423:2001 up to 690 bar working pressure for a large variety of fluids.
Several systems have been successfully operated since 2016.
