After 10 years of subsea service, Blue Logic's anode retrofit system still protects the subsea bundles at Gullfaks
In 2016, Equinor installed Blue Logic anode retrofit systems on their subsea bundles at Gullfaks. This system consists of an anode-skid installed nearby the structure subject to Cathodic Protection, CP. An
ingenious magnet connection feature represents the electrical interface between bundle and anode-skid. Unlike traditional welding methods, connection is easily performed by any ROV allowing flexible positioning and repositioning later on if required.
After installation, all systems were verified by dedicated subsea Ampere-meters developed and designed by Blue Logic. By installing the Ampere-meter directly onto the cable, the onboard display revealed real time current to verify succesful CP. Please visit

A magnet clamp at Gullfaks was retreived after 6,5 years prooving excellent condition and no signs of corrosion or degradation.
